This position may be classified as level 1, 2, or Senior, depending on the relevant experience of the candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Delivering general nursing care to patients.

2. Administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with established nursing standards.

3. Assisting in the preparation of medical equipment and supporting physicians during examinations and procedures.

4. Observing, documenting, and reporting on patients' conditions and responses to medications and treatments to physicians.

5. Screening patients for necessary information and instructing them on specimen collection for testing.

6. Managing incoming telephone calls and providing guidance to patients and families regarding medications and treatment protocols.


7. Recording patient data prior to physician visits, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.

8. Performing EKG and oxygen saturation readings as required by the physician.

9. Collecting blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed, adhering to OSHA and universal precautions.

10. Calling in prescriptions and making other patient-related calls as directed by physicians.

11. Maintaining patient files, records, and other pertinent information.

12. Initiating IV fluids and therapeutic medications in accordance with state nursing practice regulations.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Licensed Vocational Nurse position will possess the following qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.

3. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a practical nurse is required.

4. Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

5. Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in the practicing state.

6. Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required within three months of hire.
