Job Summary:
Gpac is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Service Technician to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.
- Maintain the condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment, adhering to company standards and regulations.
- Ensure a clean and organized work area, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations, taking necessary precautions to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Complete all reports and forms required for work assignments, providing accurate and detailed information.
- Account for all time spent on tasks and materials used, maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Be willing to commute to on-site locations to fulfill customer-owned equipment servicing needs, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience performing service repairs and engine repair, with a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment, following technical manual procedures.
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of heavy equipment, with a strong understanding of technical documentation.
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes, with a valid driver's license.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly, with a strong physical presence and stamina.
- Basic Service Technician certification preferred, with a strong commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required, with an Associate's degree preferred.
