Key ResponsibilitiesYour primary responsibilities will include:
- Delivering professional nursing care to patients in the operative setting.
- Performing scrub functions, including the selection and management of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Executing circulating functions, which involve monitoring and documenting patient conditions and overseeing nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
- Assisting the operating physician with surgical tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, and patient positioning.
- Preparing operating rooms and ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are ready for use.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer is required. Acceptable certifications include those from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Registered Nurse credential from the Illinois Board of Nursing is required prior to hire or transfer.
Education:
- A diploma from an accredited nursing school or required professional licensure at the time of hire.
1-2 years of experience as an RN in the Operating Room is strongly preferred.
