Job Summary

The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides scrub/circulator nurse services in the operating room during surgical procedures and as a member of the surgical team, assists as needed according to established procedures.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team at ATC Chicago. The successful candidate will have a strong background in operating room nursing and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts individualized patient assessment, prioritizing collection of data based on individual needs and condition.
  • Collaborates with other team members in the development, implementation, and evaluation of an individualized plan of care.
  • Provides patient care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved.
  • Assists surgical team during operative procedures as required.
  • Prepares room with appropriate instruments, sutures, and other necessary supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse/RN license in the state of practice.
  • At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse/RN in the operating room.
  • Current CPR at least to the BLS level; and other health and screening tests as required by specific facilities and/or regulatory agencies.
