Responsibilities
Provides perinatal care to patients, including physical assessment, patient education, and evaluation and management of problems in accordance with approved nurse midwifery guidelines.
Assists in the development, implementation, and revision of nurse midwifery guidelines and standards of care.
Evaluates individual health care status of patients, formulates a management plan, and revises the plan as indicated.
Participates in ongoing review of nurse midwifery prescriptive practice and maintains awareness of legislation that may affect the health care delivery systems and nurse midwifery practice.
Requirements
Graduate of an approved program in midwifery, with a Master's Degree preferred.
5 years of previous nurse midwifery experience, with Laborist call coverage and 12-hour shifts.
Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) licensure and Board of Registration in Nursing (Massachusetts) certification.
