Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in the Newborn Nursery at St. David's Medical Center. As a key member of the healthcare team, the CNC is responsible for coordinating all aspects of patient care, from admission to discharge, while maintaining a focus on exceptional patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Admission and Discharge Processes: Assist with the efficient management of patient admissions and discharges, ensuring seamless transitions and high-quality care.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in ongoing assessments of patient care services, collaborating with the management team to identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based solutions.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a culture of teamwork and open communication, working closely with subject matter experts and other managers to drive improved outcomes and service excellence.
  • Service Recovery: Demonstrate a patient-first philosophy, engaging in service recovery initiatives to address patient concerns and ensure a positive experience.
  • Employee Engagement: Support the facility's efforts to enhance employee engagement, operationalizing strategies such as employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives to promote a positive work environment.
  • Staff Management: Provide recommendations for interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, as well as implementing courses of action to ensure a competitively better organization.
  • Staff Scheduling: Assist with staff scheduling, managing labor needs in accordance with patient care requirements and established productivity guidelines.
  • Inventory Control: Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment to ensure efficient operations.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support and Neonate Resuscitation certifications required within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Experience: Relevant experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a leadership or coordination role.
