Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at Amsted Rail Company Inc. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machine tools to produce high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and CAD files to understand production requirements.
  • Set up and operate manual, automatic, and CNC machine tools to produce parts with precision and accuracy.
  • Align and secure cutting tools and workpieces to ensure optimal performance.
  • Build and maintain fixtures for machining parts.
  • Monitor machine feed and speed to achieve optimal results.
  • Turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind machine parts to specifications and maintain tolerances.
  • Use gauges and measuring instruments to ensure quality control.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed products for defects.
Requirements
  • Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a machinist role.
  • Journeyman certification is a plus.
