Job Overview

As a key member of our Engineering Services Team, you will play a vital role in creating comprehensive drawing packages for our utility customers. In this position, you will oversee the management of all drawing files and modify CAD files to incorporate engineering changes, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient project execution.


A Day In The Life
  • Draft electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using various platforms, including AutoCAD and MicroStation, to ensure accurate and detailed representations of complex systems.
  • Develop electrical station layouts, plans, and station details using AutoCAD and MicroStation, applying your expertise to create high-quality visualizations.
  • Produce physical station layouts, plans, and details in 2D and 3D using AutoCAD and MicroStation, leveraging your technical skills to deliver precise and informative drawings.
  • Create cover sheets using AutoCAD and MicroStation, ensuring consistency and professionalism in our deliverables.
  • Maintain drawing lists, guaranteeing that all relevant information is accurately recorded and easily accessible.
  • Submit CAD files and associated documents to client servers, adhering to established protocols and timelines.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality drawings and drafting, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
  • Plot, scan, and create PDFs of documents and drawings to support project teams, facilitating seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Plot drawing sets and create shipping labels for customer sets, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior-level CAD Technicians, sharing your expertise and knowledge to foster growth and development.
  • Order materials on projects, following customer procedures and protocols.
  • Communicate with other OEC firms and clients regarding drawing ownership and priority, promoting effective collaboration and resolution.
  • Develop a working knowledge of customer procedures and standards regarding drawing modifications and submittals, ensuring compliance and quality.

What will help you thrive in this role?
  • An Associate's Degree in Drafting/Engineering or a high school diploma with related technical experience in drafting.
  • Advanced working knowledge of the MS Office suite.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D & 3D, AutoCAD Electrical, MicroStation 2D & 3D.
  • The ability to visualize items in 3D.
  • Working knowledge of drafting practices.
  • High attention to detail and quality review.
  • The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting milestone dates.
  • Working knowledge of construction, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams, and physical connections would be helpful but not required.
