Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at Woodway USA. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical drawings and designs based on specifications and calculations provided by engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Drafting:
    • Create detailed mechanical drawings and designs using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
    • Prepare 2D and 3D models of mechanical components and assemblies.
    • Develop layouts, schematics, and diagrams based on engineering specifications.
  • Technical Documentation:
    • Generate and maintain accurate and comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and specifications.
    • Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and constraints.
    • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve designs and processes.
    • Coordinate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Perform quality checks on drawings and designs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Revise drawings based on feedback and changes in project scope or requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical design and drafting technologies.
    • Propose and implement improvements to design processes and tools.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, Design Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and drafting.
    • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.).
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and practices.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in designing for manufacturing (DFM) and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Certification in CAD software.
  • Experience with PDM/PLM systems.
Working Conditions:
  • This role involves working in an office environment.
  • Standard working hours with potential for overtime depending on project demands.
