Role Summary: The Clinical Nurse Specialist plays a vital role in providing comprehensive patient care in alignment with the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards. This position involves collaboration with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective healthcare delivery. The Clinical Nurse Specialist is responsible for assessing patient needs, developing care plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes in accordance with established nursing practices and hospital policies.

Qualifications:

· Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program with an Associate's Degree in Nursing (required) or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).

Licensure and Certification:

· Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in New York and Connecticut.

· New graduates may be considered for licensure at the discretion of the Chief Nursing Officer.

· Preferred certifications endorsed by the American Nurses Association or the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses.

Training Requirements:

Essential training includes:

  • BLS - Required upon hire
  • ACLS - Required by end of orientation for specific units
  • PALS - Required by end of orientation for pediatric areas
  • NRP - Required by end of orientation for maternal and neonatal care
  • Additional certifications as specified for various nursing specialties

Work Environment:

This position is categorized as Per Diem, with flexible scheduling options available. The role requires commitment to professional development and adherence to the highest standards of nursing practice.

Compensation:

Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications.
