Construction Project Manager

NiSource is seeking a highly skilled Construction Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for managing and executing construction activities in accordance with all applicable requirements, ensuring safe, reliable service to customers in an efficient, economical manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver standard onboarding and construction workflow process training for new construction coordinators.
- Assist construction coordinators with time management and documentation preparation.
- Support construction coordinators on technical-related aspects of projects, including daily tasks such as compliance, pipeline and workplace safety, damage prevention, and safe digging practices.
- Provide pre-job walk support to new construction coordinators.
- Assist Construction Field Leaders in verifying construction coordinator competency and documenting performance.
- Attend constructability reviews for projects and support internal and external audits.
- Actively interact with contract crews and leaders to ensure contractor performance adheres to established metrics and policies/procedures.
- Implement best practices and drive functional consistency, process standardization, and operational excellence.
- Support and facilitate change management for Gas Distribution construction.
- Identify and develop areas of opportunities to improve construction coordinator and contractor crew efficiencies.
- Collaborate with peers to ensure operating standards and construction practices comply with policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years underground utility construction experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of gas operations, including gas flow, construction, contracts, and emergency response.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal operating codes.
- Strong knowledge of policies, procedures, and standards pertaining to construction.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and operations maps.
- Working knowledge of operations support systems, including WMS, DIS, WMS docs, GIS, etc.
- Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business-related field.
- Construction Inspection/Welding experience.
- Operations Engineer/Engineering Technician experience.
- Experience in estimating project costs and creating job orders.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word.
Work Authorization:
Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
