United Way Miami is seeking a Financial Coach (Case Manager) to become a vital part of our team, focusing on the financial coaching services of the United Way Center for Financial Stability and supporting integration with other United Way and community initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Excellent customer service skills and the capability to work collaboratively in a team setting are essential. Comfort in communicating effectively with individuals and small groups on various financial topics is crucial. Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish or Creole is highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct services, including training and personalized coaching, aimed at enhancing financial capability, modifying financial behaviors, and achieving financial objectives.
  • Conduct and coordinate comprehensive assessments of individual and family clients.
  • Educate clients on the benefits of financial capability services and foster long-term coaching relationships.
  • Assist clients in recognizing and addressing current financial opportunities and challenges, providing a holistic view of financial stability to promote proactive financial management and long-term success.
  • Develop tailored financial stability plans in collaboration with clients, focusing on goal-setting, money management, savings, credit building, debt management, utilization of financial services and products, tax preparation, benefit screening, and employment services.
  • Identify and refer clients to additional community resources and services as necessary to achieve their financial goals.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key providers of community resources and services, coordinating efforts to maximize client impact.
  • Review financial plans to identify needs and gaps, follow up, monitor, and evaluate client progress.
  • Ensure accurate and secure maintenance of clients' physical and electronic files.
  • Track and compile outcomes of services provided, preparing regular reports.
  • Continuously learn new skills and techniques to enhance service quality and impact.
  • Engage in outreach and attend events to promote services, recruit clients, and build partnerships.
  • Represent United Way at community meetings, conferences, and committees, participating in special events to support fundraising efforts.

Due to the leadership role United Way plays in the community, particularly during crises, all staff members are expected to be fully engaged in the organization's crisis plan and response efforts.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required with major coursework in business, management, social services, or related fields or equivalent experience.

Experience Requirements:
Demonstrated success in serving at-risk and/or low-to-moderate income populations. Comfortable communicating with individuals and small groups on various financial topics.

Other Requirements:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a must.
