About the Role
This leadership position plays a critical role in the provision of patient care, utilizing the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The successful candidate will effectively delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members, assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient populations.
- Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively.
- Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in patient care.
- Embody concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale.
Requirements
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area.
Physical and Environmental Demands
This role requires heavy work, involving exertion of 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The incumbent works in a patient care area, exposing them to blood, body fluids, and tissue, and has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.
