Job Summary:

As a Phlebotomist PRN at Medical City Dallas, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services. Your primary responsibility will be to collect blood and other specimens from patients, accurately labeling and processing them for testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draw blood specimens from patients using finger sticks, heel sticks, or venipunctures, and collect other specimens as required.
  • Label specimens accurately and enter specimen data into the computer system.
  • Prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departments.
  • Assist with clerical duties, including answering telephone calls and performing other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience or certification through a clinical phlebotomy program may be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Acute care hospital experience is strongly preferred.
  • Skilled phlebotomy technique and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
