Job Summary
Alameda Health System is seeking a recent graduate with a California RN license to join our team as a New Grad RN. This program provides an opportunity for new graduates to gain experience and develop their nursing skills under close supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients, including medication administration and treatment.
- Accompany and assist patients in communicating their needs to other healthcare providers.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, preparing required records and reports.
- Assess patient information to meet nursing needs, consult with physicians, and contract with other departments to obtain or provide patient information.
- Monitor telemetry systems, alert primary nurses to changes in patient rhythms, and post telemetry strips as needed.
- Participate in promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families, setting up and controlling the environment essential for infection control.
- Implement patient care standards, infection control standards, and quality assurance criteria, assisting with conducting studies and participating in unit meetings.
Requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support Certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Licenses/Certification: ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification - issued by AHA -American Heart Association, may be required per facility or unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
Required Licenses/Certifications: CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (Required for all positions in the Emergency Department – training to be provided by the Facility.)
Required Licenses/Certifications: PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification- AHA American Heart Association (Required for Emergency Department or if overseeing or providing pediatric care on a regular basis – to be obtained within 6 months of hire).
Required Licenses/Certifications: Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
