About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our team at Jobot. As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing fire protection systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform fire suppression and alarm engineering calculations, including hydraulic calculations and intelligibility calculations.
  • Conduct life safety code reviews and prepare construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with in-house and subconsultant specialists, as well as other trades such as architects, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing engineers.
  • Perform field verification of existing systems for renovation projects and communicate with manufacturer representatives to determine solutions for specific applications.
  • Prepare design deliverables for various owner-required submittals and perform project construction administration, including response to RFI's, review of submittals, and preparation of bulletins.
  • Review designs prepared by others as part of AEC's QA/QC process and attend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and other professionals as projects require.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering from an accredited university.
  • FPE License.
  • 5-15 years of fire protection engineering design experience.
  • Working knowledge of design and analysis software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and AutoSPRINK and EASE Evac.
  • Good knowledge of State and Federal Codes.
