Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of student health and medical information
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents regarding student health and medical needs
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on district policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Current Texas RN or LVN license issued by The Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Current certification in CPR
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
  • School nursing experience preferred

  • Either successful completion of TISD's fingerprinting procedure ($47 fee) or evidence of prior fingerprinting by the Texas Education Agency (other agency fingerprints may not be used, i.e. child care facilities, concealed handgun license, etc.)
  • Successful completion of an Orientation session with the Director of Health Services
  • Submission of completed New Substitute Paperwork, presentation of acceptable forms of ID for the I-9/Employment Eligibility Form, and benefits elections
