Overview

At Suburban Testing Labs, we have been successfully operating since 1963 as a family-owned environmental testing company. We are seeking candidates for our Field Technician 2 position.

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is $18 per hour, based on industry standards and location considerations.

Job Description

This field service professional will be responsible for transporting and collecting water samples from various business locations in a company-provided vehicle. The successful candidate will receive detailed job training, including learning about simple microbiological water sample analyses. With the opportunity to continuously improve skills and take on new responsibilities, Field Technicians can progress through multiple field service levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport samples safely and in a timely manner over assigned routes, obeying all traffic laws and observing safety regulations.

  • Gather and prepare equipment, supplies, and documentation prior to daily schedules.

  • Demonstrate and promote professional practices, including personal safety and the safety of others while in the field.

  • Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of procedures and equipment.

  • Perform activities at client sites in accordance with established procedures and timeframes.

  • Learn and maintain knowledge and understanding of procedures and equipment.

  • Coordinate with team members to ensure deadlines are met efficiently.

  • Represent the company in the field in a positive, professional manner and interact with clients and coworkers in a professional, effective manner.

  • Monitor basic maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and instrumentation.

  • Perform routine quality assurance checks on equipment and instrumentation.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and personal vehicle insurance.

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • The ability to work outside of scheduled hours as required to meet client/workload needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting in a vehicle.

  • The ability to lift up to and including 50 pounds.

  • Frequent standing, kneeling, and sitting each workday.

  • The ability to work outside in all weather conditions.

  • The need to travel locally frequently.
