Role Description:Are you seeking a rewarding per diem or part-time role in community-focused Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine?
MaineGeneral Medical Center is in search of a per diem or part-time physician who is either board certified or board eligible in pediatrics. Become a vital part of our Pediatric Hospitalist team, providing care for newborns (including well-newborns, Level II NICU, and delivery attendance), pediatric inpatients, and emergency department consultations at our advanced facility.
Applicants should be proficient in neonatal resuscitation, newborn care, and the stabilization of critically ill newborns while awaiting transfer to a specialized care center.
Key Position Details:
- Be part of a well-established team of pediatric and adult hospitalists dedicated to delivering evidence-based care to our community and quality education to medical learners.
- Flexible shift options of 12 or 24 hours.
- Provide independent care during each shift with in-house support from obstetricians, midwives, anesthesia, emergency medicine, and family practice physicians; pediatric subspecialty/NICU/PICU support is available via phone from the nearest children's hospitals.
- Teaching responsibilities include mentoring 1-2 learners (family medicine residents and medical students) during weekdays.
- Average daily patient census of 4-6.
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) - American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) certification is required.
