As a Research Associate, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day greenhouse and growth chamber activities, including planting, pollination, tissue sampling, pest/disease scouting, harvesting, threshing, discarding, chamber sanitation, general plant care, data collection, data entry, facility cleanliness, and maintaining safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process tissue samples from soybean plants for DNA analysis
  • Water, pot, and care for all plants in the growth chamber
  • Assist in operating the soybean threshing machine
  • Plate samples for testing by the Molecular Marker group
  • Clean and maintain the facility
  • Perform plant maintenance tasks, including trimming, training, and node cleaning
  • Cross-pollinate plants and discard unwanted specimens
  • Work with soybean, wheat, pollen, and dust
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Plant Science, Horticulture, Agriculture, Biology, or a related field
  • Previous greenhouse experience
