PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment for our customers by upholding standards in line with the operational guidelines.

Reduce inventory loss through effective implementation of standard practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster a culture of enthusiastic customer engagement with a focus on prompt, friendly, and precise service to enhance the shopping experience
  • Be courteous and supportive to fellow team members
  • Conduct floor cleaning on evenings without scheduled vendor activities
  • Perform weekly sanitation of Produce, Market, and Deli sections
  • Organize and maintain the cleanliness of the store's mop room
  • Identify more efficient methods to execute tasks and strive to lower costs while enhancing labor efficiency
  • Adhere to the daily QA checklist and sanitation protocols established by the company
  • Comply with current Standard Practices for the disposal of Hazardous Waste materials
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of and comply with company policies, guidelines, and standard procedures
  • Recognize and follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety protocols and procedures
  • Monitor and rectify any unsafe conditions that may pose risks to associates or customers
  • Report all incidents involving associates and customers according to established procedures to the Manager on Duty
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations
  • Wear the company uniform, complete with name badge, while on duty, and maintain a neat and professional appearance in accordance with the dress code
  • Successfully complete all required Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses
  • Carry out any additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service abilities
  • Willingness and capability to learn various tasks and technical aspects of the role
  • Ability to utilize technical information to address challenges
  • Must meet minimum age criteria for specific job responsibilities
  • Must be capable of fulfilling the physical demands of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Proficient in using computers and other communication tools necessary for job functions
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Lift and carry products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Push or pull weights up to 75 lbs. occasionally
  • Stand for extended periods, with frequent short-distance walking
  • Handle various substances related to cleaning and packaging materials, fresh produce, houseplants/flowers, and household cleaners
  • Use hands to frequently/continuously manage currency (paper and coin) and operate various equipment such as cash registers, lottery machines (where applicable), scanners, computers, and calculators
  • Frequent reaching and grasping at waist level; occasionally above shoulder or below waist level
  • Meet established performance standards for the role
  • Tolerate working in extreme hot/cold conditions for up to 20 minutes at a time
  • Possess sufficient visual acuity to verify ID cards, checks, invoices, and other written documents
