Job Summary:
Our client, a management company with over 20 locations in the Midwest, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their Finance and Operation Management Team.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform weekly bank statement reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
• Analyze the general ledger for accuracy and prepare journal entries as needed to maintain financial records.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing, including annual audit, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor, analyze, and reconcile general ledger, prepaid expenses, miscellaneous receivables, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts to ensure financial stability.
• Maintain fixed assets and depreciation system to track and record asset values.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly state sales tax returns to ensure timely compliance.
• Assist with other accounting tasks and projects as assigned to support the team's goals.

Requirements:
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Prior experience working in an accounting/finance department is desirable, but not required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills to prioritize and multitask effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve common goals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel, to analyze and present financial data.
