Job Description
The Orion Flight Software Unit Test Engineer role at Bastion Technologies presents a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced software professional.

About the RoleThis position supports the JETS II contract in Houston, Texas, with quarterly travel to Houston and/or Denver required. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for collaborating with the software development team, focusing on creating a Google Test implementation for the Orion Flight Software, and identifying issues related to the Google Test Framework or flight code.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a formal Unit Test Plan for the Orion Flight Software.
  • Create a Google Test implementation and run the Google Test suite after writing the tests.
  • Determine the root cause of issues, whether related to the Google Test Framework or flight code.
  • Conduct code reviews of C/C++ code to spot errors in logic.
  • Work in an Agile environment with remote work options available.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the management.

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a related field is required.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is mandatory due to customer-related information sensitivity.
  • At least 1+ years of recent and relevant work experience are necessary.
  • Experience with the Google Test Framework or similar testing tools is essential.
  • Familiarity with GMock for isolating units under test is desirable.
  • Creativity in overcoming challenges during unit testing is crucial.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ coding and testing classes and methods.
  • Agile software development experience, including Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, git, slack, SharePoint.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
  • A strong customer service attitude is expected.
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal direction.
  • Quick learning and adaptability to new concepts are necessary.
