Raytheon combines its vast resources and investments to solve customer challenges. This role is part of the Specialty Engineering Directorate, a multi-discipline organization developing test solutions for all Raytheon products.

Job Summary

The selected candidate will develop software as a part of on-site factory support of test systems to support product testing. The individual will contribute to multidiscipline engineering teams, developing applications, libraries, and instrument drivers using specified software style, development language, and integrated development environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software Development: Develop object-oriented software applications using C# and C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio in the Windows Operating System (OS).
  • Task Prioritization: Prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a production environment.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot software and test equipment.
  • Teamwork: Work in an engineering team environment.
  • Requirements Development: Develop requirements for software products.
  • Communication: Communicate with Program Management through written and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and five years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in developing and integrating software applications using programming languages including but not limited to C++, C#, Java, Python or Visual Basic.
  • Experience with professional engineering experience utilizing integrated development environments and debugging tools to troubleshoot software implementation and ensure integrity of the software products.
  • Experience with Windows Operating System and Microsoft Visual Studio is required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government issued (Secret) security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniques.
  • Working knowledge of the development of software drivers for the operation of computer hardware interfaces.
  • Working knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, RS-422.
  • Familiarity with laboratory test instrumentation, electronics, and software (Ex. NI VISA, NI Measurement and Automation Explorer, NI Switch Executive).
  • Professional experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) to visualize software architecture and design (Ex. IBM Rhapsody, Cameo System Modeler, and Cameo Enterprise Architecture).
  • Professional experience of software development lifecycles, such as Agile.
  • Experience with Software Configuration Management principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps Server.

  • A competitive salary range of $77,000 - $163,000 per year.
