Job Title: Survey Field Technician III

Are you a skilled surveyor looking for a challenging role in a dynamic company? T2 Utility Engineers is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Survey Field Technician III to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.

Job Summary

The Survey Field Technician III will be responsible for leading a team of surveyors in the field, ensuring accurate and efficient data collection, and providing technical expertise to support project delivery. This is a key role in our survey team, and we are looking for someone with a strong background in surveying and mapping, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of surveyors in the field, ensuring accurate and efficient data collection
  • Provide technical expertise to support project delivery, including survey calculations, data analysis, and report writing
  • Supervise daily survey crew activities, including safety protocols and quality control
  • Represent T2 Utility Engineers with clients, subcontractors, and third parties during field activities
  • Facilitate daily tailgate safety meetings and perform daily job hazard analysis with crew members
  • Direct safety set-up and flagging operations for proper maintenance of traffic signage
  • Train other crew members and maintain a high level of technical expertise
  • Effective maintenance, cleaning, and operation of vehicles, equipment, tools, and supplies
  • Assist with daily vehicle pre-checks and completion of truck sheets
  • Complete monthly survey equipment inventory for supervisor reorder
  • Load and unload survey equipment and supplies
  • Set up survey tri-pods to provide backsite and foresight operations
  • Cutting line
  • Support subsurface utility engineering services as required
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • 1-3 years of experience as a survey field technician II or a bachelor's degree in surveying
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, up to 2 week continuous stay
  • Outdoor work in all climates
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only)
  • Ability to stand and walk on smooth and uneven terrain for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical activities to include bending, squatting, etc. related to carrying and operating survey equipment and other tools
  • Good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
