This role is for an IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT) within the Army National Guard Units. The incumbent will provide critical support and maintenance for automated logistics information systems.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Leverage comprehensive knowledge of logistics operations and automated systems to oversee projects related to systems integration.
Manage tactical local area network (LAN) clients, ensuring optimal performance of network systems and adherence to operational standards.
Diagnose and resolve intricate network issues within the designated area, responding promptly to user requests for assistance.
Conduct troubleshooting for hardware, software, and operating system challenges, ensuring timely application of software updates and security patches.
Collaborate with the Department of the Army and National Guard Bureau to facilitate CSS operations and provide automated systems support.
Guide functional users in the management and operation of automated logistics systems.
Act as a Systems Administrator for all CSS automated logistics information systems, offering technical expertise and guidance to operators and supervisors.
Review and prioritize trouble tickets on a regular basis, ensuring efficient resolution of technical issues.
2.Serve as the primary contact for Functional Administrators and users of the serviced databases.
Oversee daily operations and maintenance of databases, ensuring efficient data collection, storage, and processing.
Implement corrective actions to recover or restore data as necessary.
Provide guidance to users in submitting problem reports and change proposals for automated systems.
3.Analyze requirements and manage hardware for automated logistics systems, overseeing the lifecycle management of devices.
Install, test, and evaluate hardware for logistics information systems, ensuring accountability and operational readiness.
Perform maintenance on hardware and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
4.Act as the point of contact for the Sustainment Automation Support Management Office Work Order Desk.
Provide assistance to users experiencing hardware or software issues through a help desk, resolving problems or referring them to specialists as needed.
Maintain an automated database of customer requests and provide reports on unusual problems.
Administer warranty contracts related to system support and offer technical assistance on IT-related issues.
Deliver courteous and professional service to users, minimizing operational disruptions.
Qualifications
Military Grades: E-5 to E-8. Candidates must demonstrate relevant experience in data processing functions and management principles. Experience in roles such as computer operator, program analyst, or similar positions is beneficial. Specialized experience is required for advancement, including familiarity with data storage media and programming languages.
Additional Information: Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must be registered under the Military Selective Service Act to be eligible for appointment.
