Job Details

We are looking for a highly skilled Underwriting Manager to join our Healthcare Professional Liability Team at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI). In this key role, you will oversee underwriting operations, develop product management strategies, and interact with customers and brokers.

Your expertise in underwriting, particularly in the Senior Care/Senior Living segment, will be invaluable in enhancing our risk assessment and pricing capabilities. You will also be expected to train field underwriters, conduct account reviews, and collaborate with claims teams on various account/claim matters.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop guidelines and workflows to optimize underwriting processes.
  • Deliver training sessions to enhance Underwriter knowledge and risk assessment skills.
  • Collaborate with actuaries to refine risk selection and pricing models.
  • Pursue account growth through targeted marketing efforts.
  • Review and refer accounts.
  • Engage with claims teams on complex account/claim situations.
  • Onboard new Underwriters and provide ongoing support.

Salary for this position ranges from $85,000 to $250,000 per year, based on your skills and experience, with additional bonus eligibility.
