We are seeking a highly skilled Automation and Controls Technician to join our team at Salm Partners, LLC. As a key member of our maintenance and operations team, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, programming, and troubleshooting of PLCs and industrial control circuits.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support to the maintenance and operations team, including programming, troubleshooting, and repair of PLCs and industrial control circuits.
- Monitor software versions and perform upgrades as required to ensure optimal system performance.
- Maintain PLC and HMI program backups and versions for all equipment, ensuring seamless operation and minimal downtime.
- Assist with updating electrical prints and schematics for all equipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Support cost-saving initiatives, such as major maintenance projects, part or equipment standardization, and alternate vendor sourcing.
- Provide technical training and skills development for Maintenance Technicians and other Maintenance personnel, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
- Provide technical support for new equipment evaluation, installation, and integration into maintenance systems, ensuring smooth operation and minimal disruption to production.
- Promote and support a continuous improvement culture, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Follow established equipment Lockout/Tagout procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Comply with all safety rules and regulations, adhering to company policies and industry standards.
- Provide after-hours support as needed, ensuring that maintenance and operations activities are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance and operations.
- Advanced industrial controls and troubleshooting experience, with a strong understanding of PLCs, power systems, and AC frequency drives.
- Experience with Allen Bradley RSLogix, RSNetworx, Devicenet, and other industrial control systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong computer proficiency, with experience in Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet, as well as E-Maintenance or similar web-based maintenance systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with changing environmental conditions, and to prioritize tasks effectively.
The work environment at Salm Partners, LLC is dynamic and challenging, with a wide variation of temperatures and environmental conditions. The production work areas are wet and slippery, and the noise level can be loud. Maintenance Partners are required to wear frocks, EH-rated composite toed slip-resistant footwear, hairnets, and hearing protection at all times on the production floor.
