We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team at Phaxis - Healthcare.

About the Role:

  • This is a full-time position that requires a high level of professionalism, compassion, and respect for patients and colleagues alike.
  • As a Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, adhering to established performance standards, policies, and behaviors.
  • You will apply your knowledge and skills to address the age-specific needs of patients, considering biophysical, psychosocial, educational, safety, environmental, and discharge planning aspects.
  • Your expertise will also involve administering blood and blood products in compliance with hospital policy, ensuring patient safety.
  • You will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic patient care.
  • In this role, you will uphold patient rights and integrate nursing ethics into daily practice, ensuring ethical patient treatment.
  • You will also follow infection control standards to minimize the risk of hospital-acquired infections for both patients and staff.
  • Additionally, you will comply with the Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals to maintain high standards of care.
  • As a leader, you will delegate tasks to ancillary staff in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, ensuring appropriate delegation of duties.
  • You will support and practice within the hospital's Professional Nursing Practice Model to promote professional development.
  • By joining our team, you will contribute to advancing the hospital's Magnet Recognition model by supporting nursing excellence and leadership.
  • You will actively participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care quality.
  • Furthermore, you will fulfill competency requirements and regularly attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
  • Finally, you will implement cost containment practices to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • When assigned, you will take on Charge Nurse responsibilities, leading the nursing team effectively.

Requirements:

  • A current RN license or equivalent in the state where you reside.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in charge nurse roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practices and research findings in Labor and Delivery nursing.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) and other software applications.
