We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in an ambulatory setting.
Responsibilities- Administer general nursing care to patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Participate in planning and coordinating patient care with the Primary Nurse and Nursing Care Coordinator.
- Follow the direction and guidance of the Primary Nurse in implementing the nursing process.
- Report and record results of nursing care and make significant information known to the Primary Nurse and/or Nursing Care Coordinator.
- Perform treatments and procedures as assigned by a Registered Nurse.
- Establish good interpersonal relations with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
- Administer medications, including oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections, except for experimental drugs.
- May administer narcotics orally or intramuscularly, except on pediatrics, newborn nursery, and premature nursery.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
- Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in New York State and/or Connecticut, required.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
