The Surgical Technician II plays a vital role in supporting surgeons by ensuring the availability of essential instruments and maintaining sterile practices during surgical procedures. Additionally, this position involves providing patient care within the clinical environment.
Qualifications:
Patient Age Range:
All Age Groups.
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Essential Coursework:
Completion of a surgical technologist program is mandatory.
Licensure and Certifications Required:
Certification from NBSTSA, NCCT, or AST is required within one year of hire or transfer. BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is also necessary.
Key Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of patient care and fundamental human needs across all life stages.
- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong grasp of both acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Familiarity with software utilized in perioperative services.
