We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist II to join our team at UF Health. As a key member of our perioperative services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons and other medical professionals in the operating room, providing basic instrumentation and sterile techniques as needed.
- Provide patient care in the clinical setting, demonstrating a strong working knowledge of patient care and basic human needs throughout the life span.
- Maintain and handle basic surgical equipment and instrumentation, ensuring they are in good working order and properly sterilized.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and effective patient care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical terminology, disease processes, and computer programs used in perioperative services.
- Certification from NBSTSA, NCCT, or AST within 1 year of hire/transfer.
- BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- High School Diploma or GED, with a graduate degree in surgical technology or a related field preferred.
