Seasonal Preschool Instructor

Join the City of Appleton's Parks and Recreation Department as a Seasonal Preschool Instructor at the Appletots Learning Center. We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to provide developmentally appropriate learning activities for children aged 3-5.

This is a non-benefited position that requires a strong communicator and class leader to provide a safe, fun, and challenging class environment. The ideal candidate will have certifications in Early Childhood or a teaching degree, and be able to work assigned class schedules.

• Provide instruction for developmentally appropriate learning activities for ages 3-5.
• Effective verbal communication with parents and young children.
• Encourage children to participate in activities through positive reinforcement and follow program guidelines for disciplining children, parent communication, class format, etc.
• Create lesson plans to develop fine and gross motor activities.
• Contribute to program ideas for enhancing the curriculum, assist with material preparation.
• Maintain class attendance records.
• Effectively communicate with Coordinator and other preschool instructors.
• Keep current in class trends.
• Perform First Aid if needed.

• Be a strong communicator and class leader, providing a safe, fun, and challenging class for the participants.
• Certifications in Early Childhood preferred and/or teaching degree.
• Minimum high school degree or equivalent.
• Ability to provide an instructional and fun class environment.
• Ability to work assigned class schedule.
• Current certification in First Aid or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Wear appropriate City uniform.
• Adhere to and implement the City of Appleton and Departmental policies and procedures.

This position is a non-benefited position with the City of Appleton. The work location is Appleton City Center Studios, and the employment season is September - April. Additional hours may be required.
