Job Summary

Orlando Health is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Radiologists to perform diagnostic sonographic exams, utilizing your expertise to ensure accurate and efficient results.
  • Exercise professional judgment in the performance of services, maintaining a demeanor that is conducive to quality care and patient satisfaction.
  • Deliver exceptional care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring the successful completion of procedures.
  • Comply with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality, adhering to Orlando Health's commitment to excellence standards.
  • Assess patient physical condition and age-specific needs, providing instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Perform proper patient identification, acquire patient clinical history, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Position patients, equipment, associated devices, and manipulate technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Comprehend and comply with Quality Control standards, participating in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Administer medical aid as required for any emergency situation, applying appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Assist in supervising student sonographers, utilizing all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensure the safety of all customers, maintaining reasonably regular and punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies.
Requirements
  • Associate's in applied science and graduation from an accredited school of sonography, meeting American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) eligibility guidelines.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Maintain current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate and AIDS certification.
  • Knowledge of routine ultrasound procedures, including invasive procedures such as biopsies, amniocentesis, thoracentesis, breast cyst aspiration, and breast localization, as well as knowledge of Doppler, 3D/4D, and pediatric sonography.
