Position Summary:

This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain training and experience in one of the most sought-after trade positions within the construction industry. Candidates will receive hands-on training in essential skills for various trades, including Plumbing, Electrical, Sheet Metal, Welding, or Sprinkler Systems. The ideal candidate will work under the close guidance of a Construction Foreman, engaging in daily tasks that include material organization, installation of pipes or sheet metal, and operating tools and machinery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform skilled trade duties under supervision, including inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation, and removal.
  • Follow established guidelines and instructions to complete job functions.
  • Assist in setting up tools and equipment for various tasks.
  • Transport tools and materials to job sites using hand trucks or motorized vehicles.
  • Provide experienced technicians with necessary materials and tools.
  • Maintain a clean work area and restock supplies as needed.
  • Assist in the lifting and positioning of materials and devices.
  • Utilize basic knowledge of tools and materials effectively.
  • Regularly clean the worksite to ensure safety and organization.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and perform tasks as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months of work experience or a combination of vocational training and experience.
  • Commitment to the company's Trades Training Program for skill development.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
  • Capable of following directions with minimal supervision.
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess problem-solving skills.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background checks may be required.
  • Willingness to adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Availability to report to various job sites as needed, including potential evening and weekend hours.

Work Environment:

  • Work may be conducted in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Exposure to moderate to high noise levels may occur.
  • Potential exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
  • May require working in confined spaces or at heights.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent use of construction equipment, including heavy machinery and tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and reaching.
  • Must be able to identify color-coded cables and possess good vision capabilities.

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be necessary, typically not requiring overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous military experience.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Leadership and technical experience are advantageous.
  • Interest in long-term career opportunities in construction.
