POSITION SUMMARY:
The First Officer role is designated as the Second in Command (SIC) and plays a crucial part in supporting the Captain throughout the flight process. This includes pre-flight preparations, in-flight operations, and post-flight duties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies, and scheduling guidelines relevant to the role.
- Assist the Captain in the safe and efficient management of flights, from planning stages to completion.
- Oversee the accurate completion of all mission-related documentation, including receipts and other essential paperwork.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the responsibilities expected of a Captain and exercise sound judgment.
- Comply with FAR regulations and share responsibility for personal flight time, duty time limitations, and maintaining necessary qualifications related to aircraft and medical standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possession of a valid Airline Transport Pilot certificate with appropriate type ratings.
- Current FAA Medical certification.
- Recent flight experience is essential.
- Ability to comprehend and apply aviation regulations effectively.
- Unrestricted US Passport is required.
- FCC Radio License is necessary.
- No violations or FAA actions on record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods in the pilot's seat or assigned jump seat with safety restraints secured.
- Meet visual standards as established by FAA medical guidelines.
- Capable of hearing verbal communications clearly amidst ambient noise.
- Ability to navigate the aircraft and perform all necessary functions in a confined space.
- Proficient use of hands for various tasks, including reaching and handling equipment.
- Physical capability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl as required.
- Specific vision abilities must include close vision, distance vision, color perception, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This position requires a valid US passport, successful completion of drug and background checks, and the ability to obtain security clearance. International experience is preferred, and proficiency in a second language is advantageous. Duty assignments may involve multi-week international deployments.
