Role Summary:

The Senior Costume Craft Specialist at OSF is responsible for the creation of distinctive costume craft items and the supervision of various costume initiatives throughout the production process.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Designing and constructing unique costume pieces and modifications
  • Collaborating closely with Costume Project Managers and Designers
  • Leading fittings and overseeing crafting projects
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to team members
  • Exemplifying inclusive practices
  • Facilitating effective communication within the costume team
  • Contributing to the upkeep of costume shop facilities
  • Participating in meetings and professional development sessions

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in costume fabrication
  • Proficiency in crafting, modifying costume patterns, and working with a variety of materials
  • Excellent communication abilities and capacity to perform under pressure
  • In-depth knowledge of textiles, industrial sewing machines, and workshop tools
  • Physical capability to lift and transport costumes
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines while maintaining confidentiality

Additional Requirements:

The standard work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, with the possibility of occasional overtime.

Compensation: $32.20 per hour, classified as nonexempt
