We are seeking a qualified lecturer to teach courses in our BS in Nutritional Science and MS in Nutritional Science programs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in nutrition and food science, with experience in teaching and mentoring adult learners. The lecturer will be responsible for effective curriculum preparation, teaching, and evaluating students, as well as holding office hours and supporting student learning and professional development.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in nutrition and food science, including lectures, discussions, and laboratory sessions.
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the department's vision and mission.
- Evaluate student learning and provide feedback to students.
- Hold office hours to support student learning and professional development.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote student success.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or Master's degree in a related field.
- Knowledge of the subject matter of nutrition and food science.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring adult learners.
- Nutrition practice experience or packaging professional practice.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
- Doctoral degree or terminal degree in a related field.
- Registered dietitian preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of trends in the nutrition profession, including specializations with certain cultural and/or language groups.
- Ability to teach in online and in-person formats.
- Proficiency with computers, software, and technology.
The work for this faculty position is located in the State of California and requires commuting to the campus. Employment is contingent upon proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
