Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Chief Psychologist to join our team at GeorgiaGov. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our psychology services department and providing expert guidance to our staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and evaluate behavioral, emotional, and cognitive disorders through observation, interview, and psychological tests.
  • Develop and implement individual treatment plans, specifying type, frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy.
  • Consult with reference materials to identify symptoms, make diagnoses, and develop approaches to treatment.
  • Counsel individuals and groups regarding problems such as stress, substance abuse, and family situations.
  • Supervise, guide, and/or instruct subordinate staff.
  • Design, coordinate, and oversee internal projects.
Requirements
  • Doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited college or university.
  • Current Georgia license to practice psychology.
  • Three years of experience at the lower level Psychologist 3 (HCP142) or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with a population with severe/persistent mental illness.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Providing group and individual therapy.
