About the Opportunity

The University of Rochester Medical Center is seeking a renowned palliative care expert to serve as the Division Chief of Palliative Care. As a key member of our Department of Medicine, the successful candidate will oversee the growth and expansion of our established palliative care programs, ensuring exceptional patient care and advancing the field through innovative research and education.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of palliative care strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients with serious illnesses.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of palliative care professionals, ensuring expertise in clinical, educational, and research settings.
  • Interface with other departments, hospitals, and healthcare systems to advance palliative care initiatives.
  • Promote palliative care through education, research, and community outreach, enhancing the quality of life for patients and families.
Requirements
  • MD or equivalent degree.
  • NYS Medical licensure required.
  • Eligibility for faculty appointment at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
  • Board certification in palliative care.
