Retail Team Lead

Job Summary:
The Retail Supervisor plays a vital role in the success of our retail operations. This position is responsible for coordinating a team of employees at an assigned location under the direction of the Retail Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Coordination: Supervise the receiving and tagging of incoming merchandise, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Inventory Management: Coordinate the moving of incoming merchandise to retail office, storage area(s), and/or display floor, and handle the storing of all incoming merchandise in assigned locations.
- Visual Merchandising: Ensure correct pricing on all products on the floor and merchandise the floor for maximum sale of all products.
- Damage Control: Responsible for the recording of damaged merchandise and work with team members to facilitate the stocking of the floor with appropriate levels of merchandise.
- Special Projects: Lead special projects, such as holidays, events, and book signings, and communicate with the manager to ensure all received products are placed on the retail floor as soon as possible.
- Inventory Levels: Lead the maintenance of inventory levels within guidelines and follow through with information to team members on new products or procedures.
- Productivity: Work with the manager to ensure full productivity on the floor and interact with customers for possible merchandising opportunities.
- Inventory Reconciliation: Ensure that packing slips and invoices are reconciled by the retail clerk and conduct periodic inventory count based on schedule established by controller and retail buyer.
- Technical Skills: Fully understand the point-of-sale system and ability to use telephone, computer, and Micros Point of Service (POS) system.
- Scheduling: In partnership with the manager, schedule staff on a weekly basis and resolve appropriate break schedules to improve floor coverage and customer service.
