About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Manager to join our team at Jobs for Humanity, collaborating with FIS Global. This is a unique opportunity to lead the development of a brand-new financial technology platform, driving innovation and growth in the fintech industry.

As a Senior Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers, driving technical decisions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions. Your expertise in cloud platforms, fintech, and distributed systems will be invaluable in shaping the future of our financial technology platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of software engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure maximum productivity and career growth.
  • Drive technical decisions through architectural reviews, design reviews, code reviews, post-mortems, and detailed software specifications.
  • Translate complex or ambiguous requirements into technical artifacts that teams can use to build mission-critical software.
  • Debug and troubleshoot software issues to ensure business continuity and a high bar for end-user experience.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, security, scalability, and adherence to coding standards.
  • Drive software quality, implement observability, and comply with best practices for builds and deployment to ensure the quality and reliability of our platform.
  • Provide live on-call support by participating in the team on-call rotation and owning production issues from root cause analysis to resolution to future prevention.
Requirements
  • At least 5+ years of relevant professional experience in software development, with a strong background in cloud platforms, fintech, and distributed systems.
  • Experience in leading technical teams, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into technical artifacts.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git), and DevOps practices like continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
  • A strong understanding of security best practices for building enterprise applications.
