Position Overview

This Advanced Practice Provider will be an integral part of the Trauma Services team at IHC Health Services, Inc., a recognized level II trauma center.

The primary responsibilities include conducting rounds with trauma patients across intensive care and various inpatient units. Additionally, the APP will engage in responding to trauma activations, assisting in bedside procedures, participating in patient resuscitation efforts, and contributing to research and quality improvement initiatives.

Trauma Services operates around the clock, ensuring comprehensive coverage throughout the year. As such, the work schedule will be dynamic, adapting to the needs of the department. Expect a blend of rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, while note that current APPs do not participate in on-call duties.


To excel in this role, candidates should ideally possess a background in critical or emergency medicine.

Essential Qualifications
Active state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant.

  • Eligibility for State Controlled Substance License II through V.

  • Eligibility for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.

- and
  • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.

- and
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Desirable Qualifications
A Master's degree or higher is preferred.


Relevant certification from a recognized certifying body, such as the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, is advantageous.

Applicable experience as defined by the leadership of the position.
