Job Summary

Dr. Praeger's Sensible Foods Inc is seeking a highly skilled Operations Supervisor to oversee all packaging activities within the Operations department. This role involves direct collaboration with the Operations Manager to ensure the efficient execution of production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise all packaging activities in alignment with plant policies, emphasizing safety and quality.
  • Provide continuous leadership and guidance to team members, enhancing their effectiveness.
  • Actively promote plant safety and adherence to Quality, Sanitation, GMP, and HACCP standards.
  • Assign responsibilities to team members to meet production schedules.
  • Coordinate and supervise pre-production activities and equipment set-up.
  • Ensure proper training of team members within the assigned department.
  • Apply disciplinary actions as per plant policies and procedures.
  • Review shift activities, making adjustments for continuous improvement.
  • Keep management informed of production status and promptly address any issues.
  • Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
  • Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
  • Check production output according to specifications.
  • Submit reports on performance and progress.
  • Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of Packaging/manufacturing supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Experience with packaging equipment such as labelers, box erectors, case closing equipment, X-ray systems, and check weighers.
  • Experience in sanitation, packaging/food products.
  • Experience working with a diverse group of people.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Comfort with computer use for MS programs and Business programs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred not required.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills, including communication, performance management, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to provide work direction across multiple production areas.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Sound judgment and good decision-making skills.
