Faculty Position in Gerontology and Healthy Aging

Florida Atlantic University's Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of Social Work invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the fields of Gerontology, Healthy Aging, or Health Promotion and Behavior. The successful candidate will contribute to the school's mission of maximizing human potential, alleviating human suffering, and promoting the ideals of a humane society.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Gerontology, Healthy Aging, or Health Promotion and Behavior
  • Mentor doctoral students and contribute to the school's research agenda
  • Engage in community outreach and service
Qualifications
  • PhD in Social Work, DSW, or earned doctorate in a closely related field
  • MSW from an accredited school of social work and a minimum of two years post-MSW practice experience
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research in the areas of Gerontology, Healthy Aging, or Health Promotion and Behavior
  • Demonstrated commitment to the core values of the social work profession
  • Experience working directly with people from population demographics reflective of our region
  • Demonstrated commitment to scholarship through a record of scholarly publications, capacity for obtaining funded research, and teaching effectiveness
