Job Summary:

Henry Ford Health System is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in Behavioral Health to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough patient histories and physical assessments.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans.
Clinical Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and outcomes in electronic health records (EPIC).
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Patient and Family Education:
  • Educate patients and their families on expectations, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Address patient and family concerns with empathy and provide ongoing support.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with the behavioral health team, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care protocols and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree or Completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program.
  • Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current ACLS or BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
  • PA - Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
  • NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan.
  • PA - Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Experience:
  • Psych Nurse Practitioner, preferred.
  • Behavioral Health Experience, preferred.
  • 2 Years working as APP, preferred.
  • EPIC Experience, preferred.
Skills:
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
