Project Overview

The ERP Supply Chain Consultant will spearhead the deployment of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, integrating Warehouse Management System (WMS), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II) functionalities for Veranova New England. This initiative will encompass a comprehensive approach from inception to the conclusion of post-implementation support.

Project Details

This undertaking necessitates a proactive role in establishing and configuring the system from the foundation, including preliminary production planning using Excel. The consultant will work closely with and receive assistance from the existing supply chain personnel, including the Purchasing Manager, Director of Supply Chain, Inventory Control Supervisor, Production Planner, Master Data Specialist, and Warehouse/Shipping Supervisor. This individual will also be responsible for training and educating the team to ensure proficient utilization of the system to enhance Veranova New England's supply chain operations.

Responsibilities

  1. Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
    1. Engage with key stakeholders to collect detailed specifications for the ERP – (WMS, MRP, and MRP II) systems.
    2. Evaluate current supply chain workflows to pinpoint enhancement opportunities for integration into the ERP system.
    3. Create a comprehensive requirements document detailing the necessary integrations of information (master data, cycle times, yields) from demand, manufacturing, and procurement, including suppliers, into the ERP system to facilitate MRP and MRP II.
  2. Production Planning in Excel:
    1. Design an initial production planning framework in Excel to serve as a prototype for the MRP system.
    2. Ensure the Excel model encompasses forecasting, inventory management, and demand planning.
  3. ERP Implementation:
    1. Collaborate with global process owners and the D365 team to configure the ERP system to incorporate WMS, MRP, and MRP II functionalities as per the gathered requirements.
    2. Oversee the integration of the ERP system with existing databases and software tools for the New England region.
  4. Data Migration:
    1. Work alongside the global process owner and D365 team to facilitate the migration of existing supply chain data into the new ERP system.
    2. Ensure validation and verification of data accuracy post-migration.
  5. Process Optimization:
    1. Enhance supply chain processes to fully utilize the capabilities of the ERP system.
    2. Establish standardized workflows and documentation for all supply chain processes within the ERP system.
  6. Training and Development:
    1. Create a thorough training program for the current supply chain team on the ERP system, focusing on WMS, MRP, and MRP II functionalities.
    2. Conduct interactive training sessions and workshops.
    3. Provide training materials and user manuals for ongoing reference.
  7. Testing and Quality Assurance:
    1. Conduct comprehensive testing of the ERP system to confirm all functionalities operate as intended.
    2. Collaborate with the IT department to address any technical challenges encountered during testing.
  8. Go-Live and Post-Implementation Support:
    1. Formulate a go-live strategy that includes a detailed implementation timeline and risk mitigation strategies.
    2. Offer support during the go-live phase to resolve any immediate concerns.
    3. Provide post-implementation assistance and troubleshooting for a specified duration.
  9. Reporting and Performance Metrics:
    1. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of the ERP implementation.
    2. Generate custom reports within the ERP system for continuous performance evaluation.

Deliverables

  1. Comprehensive requirements document for the ERP system with WMS, MRP, and MRP II functionalities.
  2. Production planning model in Excel.
  3. Configured and validated ERP system ready for deployment.
  4. Data migration strategy and validation report.
  5. Process optimization report aligned with standardized workflows.
  6. Training program materials and creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  7. Post-implementation support strategy and resources.
  8. Custom ERP reports and KPI dashboard.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in Supply Chain within the pharmaceutical sector, with specific expertise in production planning, procurement, and logistics.
  • Demonstrated success in ERP system implementation.
  • Prior experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics D365.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
