Construction Laborer

US Water Services Corporation is a leading water and wastewater utility organization seeking experienced Construction Laborers for challenging projects throughout the Tampa Bay Area, FL. As a Construction Laborer, you will perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor in heavy construction projects, including pump/lift station demolition, rehabilitation, and new construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform manual labor tasks in heavy construction projects, including material handling and storage, load/unload trucks, and haul/hoist materials.
• Dig and expose utility piping, and act as a trainee to operate heavy equipment (backhoe, excavator, tractor, etc).
• Perform confined space entries to access wastewater wet wells for demolition.
• Perform a variety of trades, including carpentry, concrete work, pipe work, and grading and landscaping.
• Maintain a clean job site, including picking up tools and equipment and securing the site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
• Follow all company safety rules and procedures, including the use of PPE (personal protective equipment) appropriate for the job at hand.
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, and bring problems to the attention of the Foreman or Superintendent.
• Maintain stamina to perform physical activity, including standing or walking for long periods, traversing rough terrain and construction sites, working in or over water/wastewater, working at heights or in confined spaces, lifting or carrying up to 65 pounds often.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Cooperate and work as a productive and helpful team member.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

Requirements:

• Heavy labor construction experience with a willingness and ability to perform manual work.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
