Job Summary

US Water Services Corporation is a leading water and wastewater utility organization specializing in utility maintenance, operations, engineering, and construction services. We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team in Florida.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain the performance of water treatment plant equipment, gauges, and charts, reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair malfunctions at the water treatment plant, including pumps, filters, and other controls and equipment.
  • Collect and analyze water and wastewater samples to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform water and wastewater quality control tests using appropriate methodology.
  • Respond to call-outs and emergencies in a timely fashion.
  • Communicate with customers and respond to inquiries and complaints.
  • Maintain lift stations, water pump stations, and storage tanks, ensuring all systems are functioning properly.
  • Inspect and repair disinfection equipment, booster pumping stations, and read meters and check lift stations regularly.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, water supply, and consumption.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety, environmental, and security standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-1 year of experience in water or wastewater operations, maintenance, or construction.
  • Florida Class C Water license required within 2 years of hire.
  • Class E driver's license and CDL may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Skill in planning, scheduling, prioritizing, and coordinating work within assigned work areas.
  • Skill in the use of motorized vehicles and equipment, such as forklifts, heavy trucks, and portable generators.
  • Skill in the use of power tools, such as saws, compressors, and sanders.
  • Skill in the use of common hand tools.
  • Skill in the use of communications equipment, such as mobile radios.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in crouching, climbing, and bending positions.
  • Able to climb ladders.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for extended periods, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment up to 75 lbs.
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
  • Work in extreme weather and overtime when required.
  • Able to work in confined spaces and wear an SCBA.
