Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the City of Fort Wayne. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining equipment at our Filtration Plant, Water Pollution Control Plant, and related facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain work areas, grounds, and equipment in a clean and organized fashion
  • Utilize lockout/tag out procedure when working on systems and equipment
  • Perform scheduled PMs and maintenance work, record labor time and materials, and enter necessary data into our CMMS system
  • Operate plant vehicles and mobile equipment, including fork lifts
  • Perform machining, fabricating, and welding activities as required in a safe manner
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED) plus 6 months hands-on mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to use Personal Computer based programs for spreadsheets and word processing, such as Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Communication skills conducive to maintaining optimum working relationships
Working Conditions

The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to work in a team environment. The employee will be required to work in a variety of conditions, including extreme temperatures, wet/humid conditions, noise, dust, and fumes.
